Today, I have submitted the registration form to the president of Patroon Toastmasters club.
I certainly become a re-inversing member for the first time in 6 months.
Today’s attendance was 11 people. (1 guest included)
Contrary to Kanagawa Toastmasters club, everyone have a speech at first.
It’s very important because I have to check the pronaunciation of each members’ name.
There are many people whsose name I can’t understand the pronaunciation.
Today’s topic was brief speech of the event last weekend.
I talked the trip to San Antonio,TX.
However, my pronaunciation”Texas” was not undestood by everyone.
I didn’t think this word is not so diffcult to say.
The pronaunciation of “X” might have a problem.
For another reason, San Antonio is far from Albany NY, so it’s uncommon place for them.
After brief speeches, I had two persons I missed to listen to thier name pronaunciation.
We had two prepared speeches. One is CC2 (the composition of your speech) and the other is CC6(Vocal variety).
The 1st speaker was a India woman.
Her CC1 sppech was time over, so this speech have faster speakin speed than CC1!
The CC1 sppech was very easy to listen, but this sppech was hard for me.
This story had 3 chapters, the contens was Flu and its preservation.
The 2nd speaker was the guest from another club.
The club is Capital Toastmasteres I had viewed before.
She played a good vocal variety.
Next is Table topics. Today’s table topic master is me.
Yesterday, Humor speech contest was held at the place for patroon Toastmasters club.
In Japan, each club has the contest in each club, but in US clubs in F5 and F6 areas have combined contest because of the schedule of the area governer.
It seems there are so many clubs so that it’s difficult for the governer to attend all clubs’ contests.
On the other hand, contestants were not so many.
F5 area has about 5 clubs, but the constestant is only one.
So, automatically he got the right to go division contest in Boston.
I expected that there are many lunch clubs in area F5, the members in those clubs can’t make their time to attend this contest.
Actually, this contest is consist of about 10 clubs, but attendance is about 30 people.
They tends to divide club when a club have over 20 members, so each club doesn’t have so many members.
By the way, can I attend the contest in the next year? At first I have to clear CC6 by the next year.
A young guy said in the interview after the speech ” My father did, so I joined in this May”
He cleared CC6 from this May, it’s not impossible, but he took good pace.
Yup! I will clear CC6 by next April and aim to attend the contest in next spring!
I found out there is the twitter account for Toasmasters International and for the members of Toastmasters.
I think this tool is useful to communicate with people all over the world.
Them I made my account.
I input the email address for the members in PatroonToastmastersClub,
I got seven members as twitter following.
It’s very fun.
Our club changes club officers on Octobers.
Kanagawa club changes them on Julys, there is difference.
I don’t know why. I will ask later.
Then, I got a email to call for new officers from this October.
There is no list for Sergeant-at-arms.
I wondered why Sergeant-at-arms isn’t called, so I ask why.
Then, the tragedy was happened.
I should write” Why don’t we have Sergeant-at-arms?”,
but I did “Why don’t I have Sergeant at arms?”
30 minutes later, I got a email
“you will be listed for Sgt. At Arms on the slate. Be sure to get your dues turned in at the next meeting ! Great enthusiasm !!!”
Oh my gosh!
I think it’s a problem to assign someone who join the club from October as officer…
Anyway I send the email “previous email is wrong to write”
As sergeant at arms for Kanagawa TMC, I ordered some goods for Toastmasters meeting in the middle of March.
It took about a week to send me when I ordered from another shop in US.
Toastmasters requires ultra high sending fee, so it must be sent quickly…
However, finally my order was not come to me by the day I left Japan.
It arrived on April 3rd. I let my parents to send it to current sergeant at arms.
At this time, my work for Kanagawa TMC has done.
